The Klovićevi dvori Gallery, as organiser of the exhibition of the Third Croatian Biennale of Illustration, hereby invites artists/illustrators to participate at the exhibition of original illustrations of books for children and young people, original book illustrations and original newspaper and commercial illustrations.
The Third Croatian Biennale of Illustration will be held in the Klovićevi dvori Gallery.
Illustrators may submit a maximum of 6 illustrations for the competition, which need not have been published.
The jury will award 4 prizes
- 1 Grand Prix,
- 1 second prize and
- 2 equal prizes, and
- 1 special recognition.
The highest award of the event is the Grand Prix which includes the artist’s solo exhibition next year in one of the exhibition halls of the Klovićevi dvori Gallery.
The second prize is HRK 10,000 and the two equal prizes are HRK 5,000 each. Croatian and foreign artists participate in the competition for the prizes equally. The special recognition is awarded for many years of work in illustration, for innovative illustration or to the best young illustrator. Artists will take back their unaccepted works 10 days after they receive information about the results reached by the jury.

The artists will cover the expenses of sending their illustrations. The organiser will cover the expenses of returning the illustrations within two months from the closing of the exhibition, and of insurance for the works during the exhibition.
A catalogue in two languages will accompany the exhibition, of which each artist will receive one free copy. All the submitted illustrations must have the following data on the back: the artist’s name and surname, address, name of the work, year when it was made, technique and size.
Illustrations without these data will not be judged. The Statute and the Rules of the Third Croatian Biennale of Illustration, which contain all the additional information about the competition, are a composite part of this invitation.
